Vanessa Kastner collects beer caps – for the benefit of disabled Thai people.
The 10-year-old girl from Hee in Western Jutland has started a project to collect beer caps and recycled plastic that can be remade as comfortable lightweight prostheses.
Her ambition was to collect caps enough for at least two prostheses.
Last year when she reach her goal, and went back to Thailand to visit her grandmother, she had the honor to hand over her gatherings of caps to dr. In exchange for the donation he gave her a personal tour and presentation on his project.
Vanessa Kastner herself has roots in Thailand and it was during a family visit in Thailand in 2010 that she learned about the project. Therdcahi Jivacate, who construct the prostheses, that costs ten times less than imported prostheses.
